Exactly nine years have passed since the treacherous coup attempt by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on July 15 , 2016. On that dark night, the first target of the FETO traitors who pointed their tanks, artillery, and aircraft at the nation was President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Immediately following the coup attempt, millions took to the streets at President Erdoğan's resolute call. Our noble nation, defending its homeland, its flag, and its will, stopped the treacherous uprising at the cost of its own lives. 252 heroes were martyred, but Türkiye once again defended its independence.

WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT... BERAT ALBAYRAK TALKED ABOUT THE STRUGGLE
Berat Albayrak, then Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, who was one of the people closest to President Erdoğan during the critical hours, also witnessed firsthand what happened that night.
Albayrak had clearly described the historic struggle Erdoğan waged and the events that took place on the night of the coup attempt.
"HE PRAYED AND RECEIVED FORGIVENESS"
After the coup and the putschists were repelled , Berat Albayrak, who appeared on A Haber on July 22, 2016, said that President Erdoğan prayed and asked for forgiveness from everyone before leaving Marmaris on the night of July 15.
"HE PRAYED, SAID BISMILLAH AND STARTED THE PROCESS"
Berat Albayrak said, "Our President performed the two-rakat prayer of Zahra that night and then said 'Bismillah' and started the process."
Berat Albayrak, who played a critical role in repelling the coup that night, said , "In consultation with the team there, we quickly evaluated alternative processes: whether we were going by plane or by land or sea. We coordinated four different planes for four cities."
DRAWING ATTENTION TO A CRITICAL POINT
While it is known that the FETO villains took action to assassinate President Erdoğan in Marmaris, Berat Albayrak described the critical process and Erdoğan's decision with the following words:
"Our President followed a very astute strategy when making all the decisions throughout the process. We presented him with the alternatives, and he held his consultations. If we talk about the critical turning points here, one of them is the issue of connecting to television stations via mobile phones and inviting the public.
Before this, when we entered the hotel thinking we were making a live statement, we unfortunately learned that due to issues at TRT and Anadolu Agency, the footage was not reaching the Turkish public. We then immediately went through the process of conveying the President's message to the national media very quickly via phone.
Apart from that, we were also holding our meetings. Speaking of what we achieved, our Istanbul Police Chief (Mustafa Çalışkan) also demonstrated a resolute stance. He took a clear stance regarding the instructions.
This instruction was given during these conversations following information that the Governor of Istanbul had moved to a secure location with our 1st Army Commander. He was instructed to immediately contact the national media and make a clear and unequivocal statement. He then made the same statement, stating that the Turkish Armed Forces were not involved in this matter.

Numerous simultaneous directives and instructions were given. These instructions demonstrated the wisdom of his leadership. As a family, we experienced a calm and courageous process.

HE WAS WITH HIM IN ISTANBUL TOO
When President Erdoğan set out to go to Istanbul with his family, Berat Albayrak was with him.
Albayrak said, "When the plane took off, our President gave the order and decision. We created four alternative locations: Aydın, Bodrum, Dalaman, and İzmir. We calculated how many different locations could be used to provide logistical support and operations. We created these alternatives."
PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN JOINED A HABER AND CALLED TO CITIZENS
That night, Berat Albayrak joined the A Haber live broadcast and President Erdoğan left the phone, and President Erdoğan made a historic speech, calling on citizens to oppose the coup.
Erdoğan had said, "This is an incident initiated by a parallel state structure. They think they can take over this country. There is no one stronger than the people in this country. I invite our people to the squares and airports."
